If you are applying for assistance with course fees for courses beginning in September/October then please ensure we receive your application in time for the July meeting of the Trustees at the latest. Please contact us for deadline dates.

Individuals
Please apply 2-3 months in advance of your course start date if possible (but not more than 6 months). You must submit a completed application form for individuals. Please read the Guidance Notes carefully before you complete the form.
When you send us your application, please enclose confirmation of your place on the course from the education or training provider who is running it. If you are applying for help with starting a job, please enclose a copy of your letter of appointment.
The application form asks for details of three referees, and you will need to ask all three of your referees to write you a reference letter. Please send in your three reference letters with your application form. If your referees need help writing a reference, please click here for our reference template.
If you are applying for over £1,000, then you will need to provide evidence of your total household income. Usually, we need copies of the most recent form P60 (or the last 3 months' wage slips) for the parent(s) or partner you live with. For self-employed people, we need a copy of the Tax Calculation page from the most recent Self Assessment Tax Return. If your parent(s) are in receipt of state benefits, please send copies of correspondence showing their current benefit awards. If you are estranged from or otherwise living independently of your parents, then please provide evidence of your own sources of income in the same way (ie. P60/wage slips and/or benefits). If you live with a partner, then we'll need to know about their income, too.
We would be grateful if you could also complete our Equality and Diversity Monitoring Form.
Your application will be considered by the Foundation’s Education Committee. The Education Committee normally meets monthly throughout the year, and the deadline for applications is usually one week prior to their meeting. To find out the date of the next meeting, please call 0116 222 2200 and ask when you should submit your application by.
The Committee may ask you to attend an interview before making a decision about your application. Interviews are normally held on Zoom.
We will write to you to let you know if your application has been successful. The decision of the Trustees is final. Payment may be made by online payment or by cheque. Course fees and accommodation fees are paid direct to the education or training establishment or accommodation provider. For these items, it is important that you give us the correct payee details on your application form, as otherwise payment of any grant will be delayed.
