"I applied for the Alderman Newton's grant because despite receiving student finance support and a bank loan, I was still short of the funding needed to complete my MSc Physician Associate Studies degree. Following a straightforward application and interview process, I was delighted to have my request approved!

The additional funds allowed me to progress into the second year of my studies and I am now just months away from qualifying as a Physician Associate. Initially, my training involved learning medical theory and clinical skills in simulation. This year, I have been on full-time placement in hospitals and GP surgeries putting the theory I have learned into practice.

When I qualify, I plan to join a Leicester-based GP surgery where I will work alongside GPs and other healthcare professionals diagnosing, treating and managing patients' health conditions. None of this would have been possible without the support provided by the Alderman Newton's Educational Foundation, for which I will always be most grateful!"
