“Drama school is an expensive part of an actor’s training. Facing many barriers and after a lot of auditions, I finally got a place at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts on the BA Acting course. This was an opportunity I couldn’t reject. However, my mum is a single parent who works part-time and her hours are not always guaranteed, so I applied to the Foundation for help with the cost. The Foundation helped me fund my way through my first year of training in London.
Along with the funding, I still needed to work. It has been tight. Things in London are ever so expensive. I have been really good with budgeting and have managed to live so far without just eating pot noodles!
I honestly could not thank the Foundation enough. I have learnt so much and grown not only as an actor but as person. I’ve made lifelong friends and industry contacts that will benefit my career as an actor.”
