The Foundation provides grants for educational and vocational training activities to people in need of financial assistance, who are under the age of 25 years and who are normally resident in the Diocese of Leicester.
The Foundation offers grants to any state funded school within the City of Leicester, or any Church of England School in the Diocese of Leicester. Grants can be awarded for projects of any kind that would not normally be provided as part of state education. Applicants should bear in mind that the Trustees are required by charity law not to fund equipment or costs that would normally be met from the school budget set by the local education authority or Department for Education.
Alderman Newton’s Education Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees has an Education Committee, which reads all the applications for grant aid and makes recommendations to the Board. The Education Committee normally meets once a month. We advise you to submit your application 3 months in advance of your activity or course start date.
